Before I began to work with it, you couldn't tell how much character was waiting to be unearthed within this wood. It was a delight to uncover the vibrant amber colored patches that contrast so perfectly with the blonde tones making up most of this piece. As I usually do when wood is more beautiful than I expect, I wanted to make sure I got the most I could out of it by carving numerous interlocking waves.
